Checked in. My sis is now at Changi Airport.

Headache. Feeling kinda feverish. I had a complicated dream last night.

Its complicated because I've been searching for the right word to describe it, among these words : sweet, wonderful, nightmarish, wierd, familiar. So...its complicated.

I kept visiting the same places in my dreams.

An American supermarket, one storey, orange top and grey-white walls, huge carpark surrounding.

Winding streets leading to a condominium, baby pool and bridges, big stepping marble stones in the pool, there's a big round-mouth park entrance, its green, fadish green.

And then.
Last night again.
That beach. (Nah its nothing scary.)

I alighted at a old-fashioned hong kong bus stop, walked down the path leading downwards to a old-fashioned hong kong wet market. There are old ladies selling old-fashioned hong kong candies & tidbits, ugly clothes from a heck-care face uncle, walk down down down down.... and then you see the beach.

Its never blue-skied. The clouds were always there, but its not totally gloomy if you know what I mean. I'm with this guy, a head taller than me, I'm clinging on to him as though he's the last man I'll ever cling to. The feeling is complicated, its apple and cinamon, its sweet & logical. I dont love this man, but I just want to be with him.

And then I wake up.

And then I have this headache.

Damn.

You want to know what girl's think?

1) You pop by her house at 11pm/7am to surprise her with supper/breakfast.

"AAAAAAHHHHH SHIT I'VE GOT NO MAKEUP ON! Cant you call before u come u stupid boy".
Thats why we dont look really happy with your surprise.

2)You went through all the paiseh-ness, the pain of forking out money from ur already flat wallet to get her a big bunch of roses.

"I'd really, really rather you buy me a bag OR something frm Tiffany OR a perfume OR just treat me to a better restaurant for dinner if you really have no where else to spend your money."
Thats why our smile is so fake. Wow, flowers, nice. What else do you want me to say???

3) You are with the girl you want to woo, its the 3rd date. Crossing the road, green man's blinking. What a gentleman, you kept your hands to urself.

"HOLD MY DAMN HAND LAH YOU FOOL."
Chance missed. It may never come again.

4) Cockroach on the street. You jump away immediately.

"..."
*rolls eyes*

5) Dining in restaurant and waiting for the waitress to come over for menu/order/bill. You look around hoping to catch the waitress eye.

"Can you just put up your hand and call for the waitress? Urgh. I'll do it. "
Sorry this applies to Singapore guys only. Majority.

6) Its 11pm, left pub. Girl-friends tipsy, you're tired too, cab comes, you hop in.

"I cant believe it. WHATS THIS?????"
Who's the man here? You or me?

More to come.

Im not anti-animals, just because I dont oohoohahah over cutie pie furry (or no fur..whatever) living things doesnt mean I hate it to the core.

I admit I'm pretty afraid of dogs, but I can get over it if it 1)doesnt barks at me 2)dont come near me unless I go near it 3) doesnt bite. My neighbour's dog has never fulfil clause 1 for the past 10 years.

I have nothing against dogs.

But that two husky owner really pissed me off.

Scenario
You have 2 husky with you, together with your gay partner who has another puppy in his arms, you guys wait for the lift. The lift door opens, two girls, one girl holds the door while the other girl stands rooted with a frightened experssion.

What will you do?

1) Pull your dogs aside and wait for them to step out.
2) Smile and pull your dogs aside and wait for them to step out.
3) Frown and pull your dogs aside and wait for them to step out.
4) Swear and pull your dogs aside and wait for them to step out.

Doing nothing.is.not.an.option.

Even the uncle with the barky dog at my block knows what to do. Even the malay auntie with the long legged dog knows what to do.

Just pull your lovely husky aside and stop wasting each other's time!!!!!!!!

Fyi, my sis will be here with me for the next 10 days, she's holding my phone so if you have anything urgent, call me straight at company phone. I wont be expecting alot of extra calls since not many of you have that line...................................

Cheers. *v*

The umbrella.

That old witch.

With a door between us. Her son standing by her side.

Her cackled sharp-pitch voice.

That long long corridor.

The scent of a Singapore morning.

The jab.

This scene kept looping in my mind last night like a scratched disc, jamming on one point and couldnt play on.

Its easier to hate than to forgive. But its tired and lonely, which is why I'm not hating anyone, and at the same time, not forgiving.

Still stuck in office, waiting for my files to be sent and Giena to be done with her casting briefing.

Anyways.

I dont like it when the level of effort from both parties does not meet. I guess nobody likes it. Especially after I spent hours and emails and conversations after conversations trying hard to push for somebody's profile, and then they screw the job for some really minor itsy bitsy reasons.

We are talking about professionalism here.

I dont like the crazy thumping of heartbeats when clients calls during a job. It usually means bad news. Disappointment. Compensation.

I dont like calling models up to talk about a done job. It usually means underperformance. Unhappiness. Something done that cant be undone, but a need to prevent it from future cork-ups.

Which is why I really cherish working relationships with girls and guys that are really serious about modeling.

Well.....

Peace.

Photobucket

Check out Lunar. The last time I've been there, wasnt sobre. Muahahhahaa.

The band were at Wu Bai's song when we entered. I looked at Gwen in utmost horror...cheaterbug! U told me there was Liang Wen Yin's song!

I miss Dragonfly so much. Awwwww. The song's not much better, but at least the dancers were hot. =*v*= And talking about dancers, the coyote girls......very J.C look. Some cant even dance, they were just moving their arms and tapping their feets. Wonder how much are they paid.

- this blog is actually half way done, but i'm really too lazy to continue.... -

I bought a Hong Gil Dong VCD at Poh Kim last Sunday. All discs except the first and last 4 discs are defected, chinese subtitle and original korean speech dont tally in some of the scenes.

For example:

Actual Speech : Last Sunday, I bought Hong Gil Dong VCD at Poh Kim.
But the subtitle reads: Last Sunday, I

Its quite obvious its an incomplete sentence. And then I'll have to pause and rewind and switch to chinese voiceover, just to catch what they said.

And sometimes....

Actual speech (Role A) : What do you intend to do with her?
Actual speech (Role B) : She must die, no matter what. She knows too much, including the sword.

Chinese subtitles reads:
Role A : What do you
Role B : She must die. Including the sword.

Its very very irritating.

I approached the staff(a brown girl by the name of Audrey) at Liang Court Poh Kim, trying to explain the defect. There were no customers in the shop, she was watching a hong kong drama. Apparently unhappy being disturbed from her show, she attended to me and tested the VCD on the spot. The first disc that I passed to her was, amazingly, perfectly fine, so I passed her another disc which I remembered to have that problem.

She started watching the disc from the beginning, worried that she's really going to watch the whole episode, I requested to fast forward to the middle of the episode where its more likely to spot the problem with the subtitles. She fast forward the WHOLE DISC, without stopping at any scenes to check, and then looking back at me with that slowly-blinking eyes.

"I dont see any problem with this disc."

OF COURSE YOU DONT SEE IT IF YOU FAST FORWARD THE WHOLE EPISODE, BABE.

Attempted to re-explain the problem but it didnt get into her though, she repeated 3 times that "There has never been anyone complaining before about this".

I was smiling through gritted teeth, "This is the first time I have a problem with Poh Kim Vcds too."

"So its the first time you are buying VCDs la?"

#
-_-

"What I'm trying to say is, I've bought Poh Kim VCDs before and has never had this kind of problem."

"Ya. And nobody has ever complained about this before. You are the first one."

YA YA YA FIRST ONE WHATEVER. COME ON IF I'M HERE TO CHEAT FOR ANOTHER SET, WHY WOULD I ASK FOR THE SAME DRAMA?

Unwillingly, she switched another set of VCDs for me. I asked her if there's still problem with this set, will I be able to change it.

"Maybe."

"...."
"Maybe means, can change or cannot change?"

Whats so difficult for a yes/no answer!? Anyway, her reply was that if I'm gonna change disc to disc, I can do it back at her shop but if I wana change to DVD version, need to go back to PS and "ask them to settle".

If you're interested to know, the new set still has the same problem. I'm going to bring it back to Poh Kim @ PS tml, wonder if I'll get the same attitude service. Did I just said the word service? Forget I said that.

If they're not okay to change, I'm totally fine with it. $19.90 for 1 set, I dont expect much. But swear I'm gonna tell the whole world about it (which I already did) and never ever gonna get even a 5 dollar disc from them again.

Lesson One : Christian Lacriox is not pronounced as "La-Kroy-x", its "La-Ku-ar".

I went to Christian Lacriox Exhibition on Sunday, one day right after the last day of evening free entry. AND OF COURSE, I DIDNT KNOW THAT. If I knew it, I would have went earlier to save that eight dollars entrance fee.

Art is a costly hobby. Always.

Crash into the guided tour. Was a very producer-like lady (if you know what I'm saying), talking in a as-a-matter-of-fact tone. I'm just making a wild guess----is this a Laselle Arts student's internship assignment? Feels like she is pouring out whatever she memorized from the lecture notes, but generally, her speech was pleasant and interesting.

Its about Costume Designer: Christian Lacroix, not Fashion designer : Christian Lacroix. Thats why most of the pieces that I saw were mostly from stageplays, operas and theatre dance performances. Costumes on stageplays have to be light-weight for the convenience of the actresses, and we're talking about a Master of Texture -- almost all pieces are happily layered. Plus Stage Productions dont have that much of a budget to spend bucks and bucks on beautiful silk, embroideries, hand-woven details.......and that is why, they came out with these:

Beautiful isnt it. Look closer...
Photobucket

..its paper. Like primary school art class, we get a big piece of paper, we draw, we paint, we stick macaroni and colourful straws and ta dah, you get this. And they wore this on stage. Save cost, save weight...bravo.
Photobucket

I didnt expect photography to be allowed inside, so all pics were taken by hp cam. My night mode isnt that great.
Photobucket

The venue was decorated very much closely to the classic opera theatres. They moved in a piano, chandeliers, velvet sofas, backstage mirrors....
Photobucket

I read " Top 50 must watch script-play" last December cos I couldnt find a decent book on Othelo. Please put aside all logics and moral feelings when you step into a theatre, we're talking about art. Its absurd that the queen falls in love with her own stepson when she thought that the king is dead and the stepson falls in love with another princess and the father comes back alive and kicking and kills the stepson. (This is not Othelo.)

Then again, its just one of the many absurd stories.

I cant stop looking at this General costume, its so suave! But the turn off point is, he goes without long pants. I hate guys in coat and shorts.
Photobucket

Cost-efficient combination of different materials, and yes, thats right, that familiar looking part is from an 18th century furniture. Master of texture, master of texture.
Photobucket

Inspired, I'm targeting my wardrobe flap and sofa cover for a patchwork dress......

The mannequins are all L size.
Photobucket

This mannequin is so big that it covers 1/4 of the platform.
Photobucket

This is a tent-like area where they squeeze in a few characters from different plays, including Cendrillion, Romeo and Juliet, Othelo etc etc....the famous ones la.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Another wearable costume. Get me that hat!
Photobucket

Some of his pieces strongly reminds me of these designers, no offence though:

Tsumori Chisato.
Photobucket

Tsumori Chisato on the left. Oh the red flamingo thingy is the famous Carmen dress!
Photobucket

And this, Vivienne Westwood. I'm sure Saturn Queen will throw in a few more punkies element, like how about black checked coat instead of plain jet.
Photobucket

This costume is for a lady character that's pretending to be a man in one of the scenes, for stupid people that isnt following the story close enough to understand, sometimes costumes have to speak for the character itself.

To end this post, this is my favourite sketch from the exhibition. *v*
